Art in the Park
June 2023
The Ontonagon Artist Collective is hosted “Art in the Park” at JK Paul Park.
This event featured a Plein Air demonstration by Mary Jo Ernst. Mary Jo is an artist who believes simple is the best approach to learning how to sketch or paint. Experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape. We’re quite pleased she’s chosen us!
In recognition of International Music Day, OAC provided a variety of instruments for the audience to try, guitars, ukulele, zithers, bucket drums, bodhrans and that’s not all!
A drum and percussion workshop was led by Eric Hopper, Director of the Ontonagon Theater of Performing Arts. OAC Board member Natisha Jorae shared several art mediums; jewelry making, bracelet beading, and a poetry writing class. Local resident Carol led a cross stitch demonstration.
